Salted Caramel Almond Butter 2


 

If you find yourself digging around in the fridge at 9-10pm and grabbing things that end up ruining a whole day of healthy eating, this is the snack for you!

 

Salted Caramel Almond Butter, it’s sweet, salty and nutty and can be eaten in so many different ways! If you are wondering if you this caramel is vegan, you will be happy to know the answer is yes! Carry on to find out how to make this devil of a healthy treat.

 

 

 

I have this salted caramel almond butter  on apples, banana pancakes, oats, strawberries, mixed with banana ice-cream and just straight out the jar. I have grand plans to use it on top of a healthy lemon cheesecake and maybe layer it inside the inside of some sweet potato brownies!

 

You don’t have to use almonds in your recipe you can use whatever type you like, however, almonds are my favourite to  use.This recipe came about when I was looking for a healthy caramel without cream, the fact it is actually date for you as well is a bonus!

 

 

The almond butter is creamy but due to my impatience a little bit chunky still (just how I like it)!! I did make a huge rooky mistake with the food processor. Never try the following;

 

I tried to move the mixture with my finger and almost taking off it (whilst it was stopped),I just got a new food processor and forgot how sharp those blades can be! My boyfriend had to take over at this point while I gave directions from the table.

How is Caramel Vegan?

Now you might be wondering how this caramel is vegan?Well, it contains only natural products, almonds, dates, almond milk and salt!

What if I want Salted Caramel Peanut Butter?

If you are new to buying/ making/ eating more wholesome nut butter don’t worry you can definitely still use peanuts if that what your body is craving. Just chuck in a packet of peanuts instead, 15 minutes later you will have yourself some salted caramel peanut butter. These two variations are some of the best salted caramel nut butter going around!

 

Back to the most important task at hand, salted CARAMEL!! And healthy at that!

Quick, Healthy & Delicous Recipe for Salted Caramel Almond Butter
Ingredients
Instructions
  1. Soak the dates in boiling water for 10 minutes.
  2. Pour almonds into your food processor.
  3. Process until they go from coarsely chopped to finely ground, which should take about 8-10 minutes, but it depends on your food-processor. Stop and scrape down the sides when needed.
  4. Add in chopped dates and pulse until blended.
  5. Add in almond milk and vanilla extract until butter is smooth. Take into account that it thickens in the fridge, so add more almond milk if necessary.
